Obituary
Eli Beatty, aged 83 years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.F. Reynolds, 1002 South Fifth Street, this morning at about 5:30. He was born in Rozetta, Ill., May 16, 1838. His wife preceded him in death three years ago last October.
Deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clara B Hummell of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. JF Reynolds of this city; two granddaughters, Mrs. RC Tribby of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. AR Stubbs of Kansas City.
Mr. Beatty’s birthplace was the only homestead between Monmouth and Oquawka, Ill., at the time of his boyhood. From Illinois, he moved to Mt. Pleasant and later located in Burlington.
Funeral services will be held from the home of his daughter on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Friends are invited.
