Mrs. Katherine Gerke, 82, 101 Denmark, died Friday at St. Francis hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Germany on Feb 6, 1877 and came to Burlington 70 years ago. She was married to William Gerke here on April 27, 1893, and was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. Surviving are a son, Harry Gerke, of Burlington and several cousins. Her husband and a brother are dead. Services will at 2 p.m. Monday in Prughs Chapel, the Rev. John Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
