William Zurmuehlen, 72, of 1811 Mt. Pleasant street, life resident of Burlington, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday in Burlington hospital, after an illness of 7 1/2 weeks. He was born Sept.20, 1871, the son of Frederick William and Katherine Rupp Zurmuehlen. He attended North Oak school and Ellott's business college and in 1892 started on the road as a salesman, continuing in such work until 1916. For the past several years he had served as an assessor. He was united in marriage to Georgine A. Schulze, Dallas City, Ill., Nov. 15, 1892. He was the second oldest member of Burlington council, UCT. Surviving are his widow; 2 sons, Harry W. and Frederick S. Zurmuehlen, and 2 grandchildren, Don ad Mary Zurmuehlen. Funeral services will be held in Prugh's chapel at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Rev. J.H. Buescher will officiate, and burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The family will be at PRugh's chapel Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
