Charles Daniel McAllister, 86, of 1509 Osborn street, died at Morning Sun Manor, Morning Sun, Wednesday, Oct. 27, after a long illness. Mr. McAllister was a native of Des Moines county and was born Feb. 13, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley McAllister. He married the late Josephine Feldman in Burlington in September of 1912. Mr. McAllister was a retired farmer. He served for many years as clerk of Flint River Township Shipping Assn. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ at West Burlington, and was a 50-year member of the IOOF at Sperry. Surviving: Sister Mrs. L.A. Hagemeier, with whom he made his home, and four brothers: Samuel McAllister, Conrad; Walter McAllister, Gilman; Arnold McAllister, Eldora, and Ray McAllister, Whitten. Funeral; Sheagren funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday; Rev. Donald V. Klohr; Aspen Grove cemetery.
