Services for 86-year-old Arthur Ellis of 817 N. Third, who died Monday in St. Francis hospital, will be at Elliott-Lunning Chapel at 11 a.m., Wednesday, the Rev. Harvey Grote officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Mr. Ellis was born Oct. 21, 1880, at Fremont. He attended Elliott Business college, Burlington, and, in1902, entered the employ of Bernard & Mercer Lumber Co. The firm was purchased in 1919 and in 1920 it became known as Ellis Lumber Co. Mr. Ellis was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. He was a charter member of the Chamber of Commerce and was a one-time director of South-East Lumber mens Assn. In 1902, he was married to Hulda Ely, in Burlington. She died in 1955 and he was later married to Lillian Blanqui. She is the only immediate survivor. two sisters died previously.
