Mrs. Ethel Baxter, formerly of 528 S. Garfield, died Sunday, Nov. 14, at Maple Crest nursing home.
Death, which followed an extended illness, came one day before her 88th Birthday.
She was born Nov. 15, 1883, in Stockton on Tees, England, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gilleard. In May 1901, she married Cortes A. Baxter in Des Moines County.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and its WSCS.
Surviving: One son, C Jewell(Joe) Baxter, Burlington; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Tripp and Mrs. Billye Hines, both of Burlington, Mrs. Coralie Teel, Tacoma, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral; 10:30 am Wednesday, Sheagren funeral home, Rev. Henry T Hackman; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has established at the church.
