Funeral for Leslie Nickols, 61, of 538 S. Central, who died Monday, Oct. 29, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Lunning Chapel, Rev. E. William Strauser; Aspen Grove cemetery with military rites by the VFW. He was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Warren county, Ill., the son of Herbert l. and Louise Porschman Nickols. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a construction worker. Surviving: Four sons, Sgt. Michael D., USA, stationed in Belgium, Pvt. Ralph, Fort Sill, Okla., and Brian and Loren L., both of Burlington; two daughters, Patricia Smith and Ledocia Nickols, both of Burlington; stepfather and mother, Ralph and Louise Cross, Burlington; sister Anita Peterson, Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
