A committal service for John Edward Strauss,44, of 525 S. Central, whose body was found Tuesday evening, Aug. 19, will be conducted by the Rev. Stephen Higdon in Aspen Grove cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday. The body is at Lunning Chapel. Mr. Strauss was born here May 9, 1936 to Mr. and Mrs. John (Jack) Strauss. he married Marie Downes Anderson here Feb. 19, 1979. He was an Army veteran and a former Yellow Cab driver. Surviving: The wife; son Eric, Des Moines; and brother, James, Des Moines.
