Robert "Bob" E. Carroll, 94, of Burlington, died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born January 29, 1924, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, he was the son of Edward and Ida Madson Carroll. On February 10, 1946, he married Elsie Regina Rodin in Burlington, IA. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2009.
Bob served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II in the South Pacific as Private First Class.
Bob worked for many years in production on Line one at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and was a Custodian for the Burlington Community School District retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene, and member and Past Commander of V.F.W. Post 10102. He enjoyed fishing and Pheasant hunting.
Survivors include two sons; F. LeRoy Carroll of Burlington, and Robert L. Carroll of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren; several Great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
The funeral service for Bob Carroll will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Lunning Chapel, with Rev. Ron Jewett officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. The Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established for Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene.
