Ilvern Mae Carr, 97, of Burlington, died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born July 13, 1919, in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of Lester and Catherine Douglas Smalley. On October 30, 1937 she married William Franklin Carr in Louisiana MO. He died on March 21, 1996.
She worked as a self employed housekeeper and homemaker.
She was a member of the Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed cooking, dancing, and living a quiet life with her family, whom she loved so much.
Survivors include one son, Junior Carr (Dawn Gilbert) of Burlington; three grandchildren, Crystal, Leslie, and Demond; several great grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law, Rhonda Carr of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and one daughter, Willene Carr.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
The funeral service for Ilvern will be Friday, March 24, at 11:00 AM at Prugh's Funeral Chapel with Freddie Starling officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time for food and fellowship will be held at Greater Hope Baptist Church following the burial.
A memorial has been established for Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
