Debra "Debbie" Jean Carpenter, 54, of Burlington, died at 3:02 p.m. Saurday, June 7, 2008, at Burlington Care Center in Burlington. Born October 30, 1953, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Eugene Stanley and Margie Cleland Quick. On March 25, 1972, she married William "Bill" Carpenter in Burlington. Mrs. Carpenter was a licensed practical nurse at Parkview Care Center and Burlington Care Center. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bingo, watching game shows, Disney movies, collecting Precious Moments figurines and dancing. Survivors include her husband; her mother, Margie Cleland of Burlington; one son, David William Carpenter of Burlington; one daughter, Holly Suzanne Carpenter of Burlington; one brother, Steve Quick of Huxley; and one sister Kathy Lee of Shelbyville, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Carpenter will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with Deacon George Rogerson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for the activities fund at Burlington Care Center.
