Last rites for 81-year-old Oscar G. Weber, Hawkeye hotel, will be held at the Elliott-Lunning chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Dr. George G. Hunt, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate, and burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The Masonic ritual will be performed at the chapel this evening at seven o'clock. Weber, who retired after 40 years of service with the postal department, formerly lived at 1906 Bertsch. He died Wednesday at Mercy hospital. A native of Wapello, Weber was the son of Frederick and Margaret Reif Weber, and was born Nov. 20, 1880. On Oct. 4, 1905, at Burlington, he was married to Mathilda Heitmeier. She died in 1959. Weber was a member of First Methodist church and of Patriot lodge No. 650, AF&AM. Surviving are a son and a daughter; Lewis Weber, Chicago, and Mrs. Marion Platte, of 2216 Gnahn; a grandson, and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister died previously.
