Margaret Marie McDowell, 96, of Burlington, Iowa, died at GRMC Klein Center, on Friday October 29, 2010, at 12:30 a.m. Born on February 20, 1914, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Augusta and Nettie On Welch. She married Warren McDowell in Chicago, Illinois. He died in 1970. Margaret was a housekeeper. She enjoyed music of all types, especially gospel music. She liked to cook, take care of her home, and care for her family. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one great-niece and three great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Gloria Moore; one brother, Albert Welch; one sister, Cleaster Davis; and one nephew, Eugene Davis. No formal funeral services or visitation is planned. As per her wishes, cremation has been accorded.
