Frank Rudolf Pippin, 70, of 1339 Hageman, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday at Veterans hospital, Iowa City, after a long illness. Born March 1, 1889, at Burlington, he was the only son of Frank and Anna Hanson Pippin. He was a veteran of World War I, and was wounded at St. Mihiel. Offensives in which he took part were Meuse Argonne, Villers en Haye, Puvennelle and Sebastopol. Pippin also served in the army of occupation. Pippin was a retired cable manufacturer. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Stewart, Mrs. Lulu Belle Ashway, Mrs. Adeline Middlemann and Mae Pippin, all of Burlington; a niece, Mrs. Priscilla Timmerman, also of Burlington, and several cousins. His parents and a sister died previously. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Prugh's chapel, Dr. George G. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove.
