Obituary
Peter John Weimer, an old resident of Burlington, who has been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. George Steingraeber, of Benton township, eight miles north of town, for the last few years, died suddenly at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Mr. Weimer was born in Germany March 26, 1845, and came to the United States in 1868, settling in Indiana. He moved to Burlington in 1881, living here from then on, until the last few years, during which he has lived with his daughter. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Weimer; four daughters, Mrs. W. H. Gaskell of Columbus Junction, Ia., Mrs. C.D. Brooks, San Francisco, Mrs. George P. Steingraeber, Benton township, and Mrs. J.C. Wischmeier of Burlington; one son, Peter G. Weimer, of Wisconsin; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m., at the Burnett-Wallen mortuary, with Rev. Robert Neumann officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Friends of the family are invited.
