Obituary

Mrs. Mary E, Cardle, 85, 2113 Dill, widow of the late Dr. Archibald Cardle, pastor for many years of First Presbyterian church, died at Mercy Hospital at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday. She was born at Philadelphia, Pa., June 28, 1876, the daughter of Neal and Sally Hague Evans, and married Dr. Cardle at El Reno,Okla. in 1897. She had lived in Burlington since 1907, and was a member of the Womens Circle of the church, and a member of the Fortnightly club.Surviving are a son, John R. Cardle of Muncie, Ind.; a daughter, Margaret Cardle of Burlington, with whom she made her home; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A son, Dr. Archibald E .Cardle, and a daughter, Mrs. Otis Pasnau, died previously. Services will be in First Presbyterian church Friday at 3 p.m. The body will be taken from Prugh's Chapel to the church Friday morning at 10. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
