John G. Bauman

Obituary
John G. Bauman died at 2 o’clock this morning at the home of his son, George C. Bauman, No. 812 Court street, after a long illness. Mr. Bauman was 70 years old on the second day of March. He had lived in Burlington about two years.
The deceased was born in Bavaria and came to America at an early age. He lived in Pennsylvania for several years and then cane west. He was married at Aurora, Ill., in 1856, to Miss Anna Steck. Leaving Aurora Mr. Bauman located in Cedar county, Iowa where for ten years he was a wagon maker. He also lived in Utah and Nebraska for a number of years.
He was a member of the First German ME church of Burlington and throughout his life was an earnest Christian and a man of the highest integrity.
He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Avorhoff, of Riverton, Neb.; Mrs. JC Sauter of Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. Wilbur R. Davis of Monrovia, Cal., and three sons, Fred C. and Henry Bauman, of Crawford, Neb., and George C. Bauman of Burlington.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at the residence of GC Bauman.
Services were held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the home of GE Bauman, Rev. Schoenig, of the First German ME church, conducted services.
