Mrs. Theresa TIedemann Canny, 83, a resident of Burlington for the past 36 years, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mercy hospital after an extended illness. She was born Aug.2, 1873, at Pleasant Grove to Frederick A. and Louise Lorenz Tiedemann. She was married June 9, 1917, at Burlington to Frank Canny. Mrs. Canny was a teacher in the primary grades of the Burlington schools for a number of years and was Des Moines county superintendent of schools from 1913 to 1917. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and a member of the Ladies Aid of Mercy hospital. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. S. J. Hilleary, Omaha, Neb. and a number of nieces and nephews. The body is at Prugh's chapel where funeral arrangements will be announced later. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
