A broken wrist and other injuries received by Mrs. Caroline Bauerbach, 93 years old, when she fell down the stairs, caused her death this morning at 1:30 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Matsch, 407 South Leebrick Street.
The aged woman had been blind for the last thirty years. Nine years ago she fell down the flight of stairs in the home breaking one wrist and eleven days ago she fell down the same flight of stairs fracturing the other wrist and attributing to her death.
She was born in Wuettenberg, Germany, December 22, 1827, and was 93 years old last Saturday. She came to America when she was 10 years old and resided in Poquepski, NY. Carolina Setter was united in marriage to August Bauerbach in 1851, and in 1871 they moved to Burlington.
Mr. Bauerbach preceded his wife in death thirty years ago, and her only son, August died 36 years ago. She lost her eye-sight about 30 years ago, shortly after the death of her husband and had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Matsch.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a nephew in Cedar Rapids, a niece in California; three grandchildren, Edward Matsch, and William J. Matsch of Burlington and Mrs. BH Gray of Riverside, Cal., and one great-grandchild.
