Obituary
Vina Pearl Cargill, 93, of Prairie Ridge Care Center, Mediapolis, Iowa, formerly of 830 Emmett St., Burlington, Iowa, died at 9:25 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at the care center. Born Jan. 1, 1910, in Franklin Township, Sperry, iowa, she was the daughter of William and Amelia Houston Wagner. On May 3, 1941, she married Virgil David Cargill in Kahoka, Mo. He died March 16, 1967. Mrs. Cargill made artificial wreaths at Burlington Willow Ware, was a production worker at IAAP, and finally worked for Pzazz, cleaning. She was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include one niece, Wanda George of Burlington, Iowa; one great-niece, Trudy (Mike) Welter of Sigourney, Iowa; four great-nephews, Terry (Charlene) Johnston of Camdenton, Mo., Time Johnston of Mediapolis, Iowa, Tony Johnston of Burlington, Iowa, Dudley (Lee) Cone of Burlington,Iowa and several great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one older sister, one infant sister, one infant brother and one nephew. The graveside committal service for Mrs. Cargill will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Aspen Grove Cemetery Memory Gardens with Chaplain Randy Gearhardt officiating. The family will receive friends at Prugh's Chapel one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
