Margaret Bohon Pence, 92, of Burlington, died at 3:50 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born June 8, 1917, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William G. Galley and Lillian E. Marsden. On June 27, 1942, she married Everett Pence in Kahoka, MO. They divorced. Ms. Pence worked in retail sales at Montgomery Wards in Burlington. She enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles, and was an active gardener all her life. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Pence of Oquawka, IL, and Michele Gentry of Camanche; two grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; and one sister, Mary Sinders of Falls Church, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. No visitation is planned. The memorial service for Ms. Pence will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. Dean Moberg officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
