The body of Pvt. Clayton H. Card, Jr., formerly of Burlington, who was killed at Oro Bay, New Guinea, March 6, 1945, will be brought to Prugh's chapel here Friday morning. Committal services with military rites will be held in Aspen Grove cemetery Friday at 2;15 p.m. preceded by short services at Prugh's chapel at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Hamill will officiate. Card was born in Burlington, Nov. 9, 1923, the son of Clayton and Lucille Sperry Card.He was living in Eau Claire, Wis., with his parents, when inducted into the army in July 1943. In April, 1944, he was sent overseas and served with army engineers n the South Pacific theater. Surviving are his parents of Eau Claire; his grandparents, Mrs. Florence Sperry of Burlington and Mrs. Myrtle H. Card of Glendale, Calif.; and an aunt Mrs.Frank Warren, of Burlington.
