As the days of pioneer life recede into the past and the monuments of early struggles disappear one by one. True in his inevitable rounds mows down the few who remain to tell of frontier life in Iowa. After a long and useful life, a life closely associated with the development of Des Moines county, Mrs. Selena Cameron, leaving behind her an example of genuine womanhood quietly passes away. She was born in Mason county, Kentucky, January 1, 1810 and was consequently in her seventy first year. When seventeen years of age she married James B. Cameron of Sullivan county, Indiana. The year after marriage, the young couple moved to RoJeville, Indiana and after a residence at that place of about seven years they moved to Burlington in 1885. During their residence in Indiana have children two boys and three girls, were born to them and five al boys were born in Iowa. Mrs Cameron became a member of the Baptist church.
