Services for Mrs. Anna Katherine Bauer, 73, New London Route one, will be held at 2 pm Thursday in Prugh’s Chapel, the Rev. Charles A Tyron officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Bauer died at 8:30 am Monday at the Shelton Nursing home, New London. She had been ill since last January.
She was born Dec. 8, 1884, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Robert and Pauline Petersen Madsen, and married George C. Bauer in Burlington on March 11, 1908. The couple had farmed in Henry county, two miles south of New London for the past 20 years. Mrs. Bauer was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harlan H. Smith, Burlington; four sons, Ramond and William of Burlington, Herbert of West Burlington, and Frank of New London rural route 2; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Madsen, Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents, two brothers, and three sisters are dead.
Funeral services will be held in Prugh’s Chapel, Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Rev. Mr. Charles A Tryon will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel, Wednesday evening from 7:30 until 9:00 o’clock.
