William H. Bates, 68, former Burlington resident died at 5:30 pm Wednesday in his home in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., after a 10 weeks illness.
He was born Jan 22, 1891, in Burlington the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bates, and was married July 5, 1917, in Waukegan, Ill., to Mary Cordell.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. C. E. McAdams, Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. E.H. Skoog, Monroe, La.; and a sister, Mrs. Grace McDonald, Burlington. His parents, four brothers, ad four sisters are dead.
Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Taylor funeral home, Wisconsin Rapids, with Rev. C.A. O’Neill officiating. Following service, the body will be brought to Burlington for committal services at 2 pm Thursday in Aspen Grove cemetery. The Prugh funeral home has charge of local arrangements.
