Obituary
After an illness of fourteen years with rheumatism, Oscar Bates, 53, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bates, 2105 Des Moines Street, died at the family home this morning at 2 o’clock.
The deceased was born in Iowa, Oct. 29, 1870, and has lived in Burlington for many years. He was employed as a teamster at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, his wife Mrs. Bird Bates, and four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Bates will be held from the family home, 2105 Des Moines Street this afternoon(October 28) at 2 o’clock. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
