Eudora "Dori" Beryl Selters, 76, of Burlington, died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born February 11, 1933, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Harry Raymond and Elizabeth Hoambrecker Ward. On January 30, 1955, she married Lawrence Melvin Selters in Burlington. He died August 29, 2002. Mrs. Selters was a self-employed crafter. She worked in production at Sylvania and at the pony ride in Crapo Park. She volunteered at the Neighborhood Center. She was a member of West Avenue Baptist Church where she helped tutor children. She was known for the doll clothes she made. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and crafts, her garden, plants and flowers, attending Rivertown Auction and horses. Survivors include four sons, Kerry L. Selters of Burlington, Kevin L. Selters of Pontoosuc, IL, and Kent L. Selters and Kenneth L. Selters of Wever; three grandchildren; one sister, Harriet Crawford of Moses Lake, Wash.; four brothers, Ronald Burk of St. Louis, MO, and Raymond Ward, Earnest Ward and LeRoy "Roy" Burk all of Burlington. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Mrs. Selters will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Kirk Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
