Obituary
Cameron, James G. - Buried in Missilla, New Mexico
WE have been shown a letter written by W.L. Rynerson, Lt. and Adjt. of the 1st infantry, California Volunteers, dated Mesilia, New Mexico, November 16, announcing the death, by dysentery, a day or two previous, of James B. Cameron, son of the late James Cameron, of this county. The writer says he was ill about two weeks, during which he had the utmost care from his companions in arms, who in vain strove to restore him to health. His last words were, "now I will have a good rest." Mr. Camerson left this county several years since for California, where he has since resided, and where he had established and enjoyed a high reputation as a citizen, a reputation which he carried with him into the army of the Union, and there brightened and increased by his patriotic devotion. His aged mother still resides amoung us. Our whole community will deeply sympathize with her in this additional bereavement.
