Obituary
Fred Bates, 52, of 2105 Des Moines street, died last night in Burlington hospital. He was born in Iowa January 31, 1882, the son of Eli and Mary Morrell Bates and is survived by four sisters, Mrs. John Sackbauer and Mrs. Grace McDonald of Burlington; Mrs. C. F. Rosenberger and Mrs. Clara Joyce in Wisconsin, and three brothers, Marion of Burlington and Roy and harry in Wisconsin. His wife preceded him in death. He was a member of the Eagles lodge.
Funeral services will be held in Prugh’s Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev. J.H. Buescher, pastor of First Evangelical church with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
