E.W. Cameron, well known retired farmer, of 529 Summer street, succumbed to heart trouble last night at 11:20 o'clock at his home. He was 83 years old and had spent his entire life in the county and Burlington. Born on a farm five miles west of the city on the Upper Augusta road in Union township, March 19, 1845, Mr. Cameron spent over 50 years of his life in continuing the operations of the farm which his father, James Cameron, had settled in the early days of the county. For the last 30 years he had lived a retired life in Burlington, He was a member of First Presbyterian church and of the Hawkeye Natives association, His wife died about two years ago and he is survived by two sons, Clarence Cameron, who operates the farm west of the city, and Chester Cameron, at home. Three nieces, Mrs. James A. Guest of Burlington, Mrs. Anna David of California, and Mrs. Minnie Smith of Chicago, also survive. Mrs. David is in the city at the present time. Mr. Cameron was known thruout the country. He became ill on Christmas day and his condition gradually became more serious. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
