Clarence Edward Cameron, widely known Des Moines county retired farmer, died at Burlington hospital Thursday afternoon. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born on a farm west of Burlington, May 30, 1874, the son of Edward and Dorcas Leffler Cameron. The farm on which he was born, and on which he had lived until coming to Burlington 3 1/2 years ago, had been granted to his grandparents by the governnent in 1836. His home here was at 529 Summer street. He was a member of Christ Episcopal church, Elks Lodge, and was a former director of the Tri State Fair association. Surviving are his widow; and one cousin, E.L. Leffler of San Francisco, Calif. One brother, Chester Cameron, is dead. Funeral services will be held in Prugh's chapel, Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
