Mrs. Margaret W. Canny, 73, who lived in the Paul Hoscheck home on Florence Ave., died at 5:10 a.m. Friday in Mercy hospital, where she had been a patient for two days. She was the daughter of Ambrose and Mary Cunningham Walsh and was born May 8, 1886, the first white child born in Scott county, Kansas. She was married Aug.1, 1928, at Monmouth, Ill., to Edward Canny. Mrs. Canny at one time operated a restaurant in West Burlington and for a number of years managed the Nifti-Thrift Food Store in West Burlington. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church. Surviving: One sister, Mrs. Carl Hoscheck; one brother, Dr. J.F. Walsh, both of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews. Services: Monday, 9 a.m., St. Paul's Catholic church, Father James Quinlan; Aspen Grove, Rosary: at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Prugh's chapel.
