Mrs. Elizabeth Maude Calkins, 821 Ironwood street, died at Burlington hospital at 6;35 a.m. Monday, after a brief illness. She was admitted to the hospital 4 days ago. Born in Canada, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Crockrell on April 12, 1867, she came to this country 74 years ago. She had been a resident of Burlington for the past 32 years. Her husband, Edwin Calkins, is dead. She was a member of Grace Methodist church, and of the King's Daughters. Surviving are 3 children: Zelma Calkins and Mrs. C.Whit Smith, Burlington, and Thomas B. Calkins of Pueblo, Colo.; and one grandson. The body is at Prugh's chapel. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
