Mrs. Mary Ann Calhoun died Thusday morning in her home at 1033 North Tenth street, Tuesday morning at 5 o'clock, following a severe attack of heart trouble with which she had been afflicted just a few minutes earlier. She had been suffering from heart complaints for some time, but the sudden attack was the direct cause of her death. She was born in Tama township in the old Walker settlement, August 13, 1842. Her parents were Peter and Sarah Jane Hollman. She married Charles William Calhoun in 1861. He died thirty-four years ago. She was a member of the Christ Episcopla church. She leaves four children: Charles Calhoun, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Philip Schmitt, of Des Moines, Ia., and Miss June Eva Calhoun and Mrs. Ida B. Hertzler, of Burlington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at the family residence, 1033 North Tenth street, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Friends are invited to the services at the home, but the interment will be private. Friends are requested by members of the family not to send flowers.
