Mrs. Clara B. Caldwell, resident of Des Moines county practically all her life, died at her home, 813 North Third street, at 9:21 o'clock this morning after a short illness with pneumonia. Clara Bonar was born on a farm a mile west of Burlington, the daughter of Wesley R. and Rachel Hanna Bonar, and she was married to Alexander P. Caldwell, who died in 1912. The couple lived on farms in this vicinity until Mr. Caldwell retired a few years before his death, at which time they moved to Burlington. Mrs. Caldwell was a member of First M. E. church and the Ladies Aid society of the church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul Jones, and a grandson, Paul Jones, both of Kansas City; a sister, Mrs. Mateelene B. Raikes, of Burlington, and a brother, Austin Bonar, of Danville. The body was taken to the Burnett-Wallen funeral home, pending arrangements for the funeral.
