Brenda Cain, 57, of Lomax, Illinois, died at the University of Iowa Hospital on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Born on July 21, 1953, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Leo and Donna Mae Lafferty Cain. She married Richard Davis in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1975. They later divorced. Brenda was a 1973 graduate of Burlington High School. She enjoyed following the David Kroll and Heartland Band. She enjoyed listening to music with her family and friends. She liked crossword puzzles and hand-held games. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She is survived by one son, Matthew Davis of Maine; one brother, Gary (Cheri) Cain of Independence, Missouri; two sisters, Cynthia L. (Don) Downs of Burlington, Iowa, and Dorothy L. Cain of Burlington, Iowa; one step-sister, Carol Woodsmall of Kansas City, Missouri; one step-brother, Terry Woodsmall of Denver, Colorado; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joshua Savage; her parents; maternal & paternal grandparents; step-mother; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral services for Brenda Cain will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel. Pastor Brad Cranston will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Following the service on Friday, cremation will be accorded.
