Obituary

Mrs. Sarah Hammer Ayton, 92, died in the Methodist Old People's home in Quincy, Ill., Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. She was born in Bedford, Ind., June 16, 1843, and came to Burlington with her parents while quite young, and lived here some 40 years. She was married to Ted Ayton, a tailor, and later they moved to Galesburg, ill., where they lived until her husband;s death 10 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church in Galesburg. She is survived by three sisters, Louise of Seattle, Wash., Carrie in St. Louis, Mo., and MRs. Francis Overturf of Springfield, Mo., a grand-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Tillery of Kansas City, Mo., and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Charles and Mary Hammer and Mrs. C.D. Klein of Burlington were cousins. The body arrived this afternoon at 2:25 and funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 from Unterkircher's funeral home with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery.
