Mrs. Clarissa J. Avis, 62, formerly of Burlington, died Saturday, Nov 27, in Fountain West Health Center, West Des Moines. She was born Feb. 11, 1914, in Burlington the daughter of Ort Taylor and haze Ida Florang Fausel. She married Chester (Chet) H.Avis Oct. 26, 1935 in Burlington; he died March 27, 1972. She was a resident of Granger and of the Lutheran faith. Surviving; One son, Randall C. Avis, Des Moines; one brother, Anthony Fausel, Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Jack McHugh, Burlington; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Prugh's Chapel, Rev. Cecil Shepherd; Aspen Grove cemetery.
