Obituary

Ruchard Raymond Cable, 72, of 3075 Sunnyside Ave., died 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 1988, at the Elm View Care Center. Born March 26, 1916, in Burlington, he was the son of William E. and Jennie Hoffman Cable. He married Edith M. DeRosear July 10, 1952, in Monmouth, Ill. He was employed with Mason & Hanger-Silas Mason, Inc. before retiring in 1976. He was a life member of the VFW and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Ricky Cable, Santa Monica, Calif., Kenneth Cable, Cedar Rapids, and Ron Cable, Thornton, Colo.; four daughters, Sherry Kandle, Woodinville, Wash., Billie Regneier, Seward, Calif., Tina Cable, Melbourne, Fla., and Linda Cable, Cedar Rapids; one stepson, Paul Mellott, Burlington; three sisters, Verna Cble and Darlene Cable, both of Illinois, and Viola Cable, Fort Madison; one brother, Harold Cable, Rockledge, Fla.; two half sisters, Odessa Bauer and Alice Hester; one half brother, Glenn Cable; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation wll be Wednesday at Lunning Chapel. The service for MR. Cable will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorail has been established.
