Funeral services for Miss Dorothy Irene Adolphson, who passed away September 9, 1935, at 5:15 p.m. will be held in the First Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The cortege will leave Prugh's chapel at 1:55 p.m. Friends invited.
Dorothy Irene Adolphson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Adolphson, 1107 Jefferson street, passed away at 5:05 yesterday at Oakdale, Ia. She was born may 24, 1913, at Joliet, Ill., and came to Burlington when two years old. She attended the Saunderson grade school and the Burlington High School and returning to Joliet, graduated from the high school there in 1931. Dorothy Adolphson was a member of the First Methodist church and active in young people's societies of the church. While in Joliet she was a member of Job's Daughters". She was much interested in the organization of the Rainbow group. and served as its worthy adviser in 1932, was appointed grand representative for the state of Illinois and had received the Grand Cross of Colors. She had a host of friends who will sincerely mourn her passing. Besides her parents she is survived by five brothers, Raymond, Howard, Herbert, Robert and Richard; three grandparents, Mrs.P. Adolphson and Mr. and Mrs. G. Hanson. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. J.F.Boeye officiating. The cortege will leave Prugh's chapel at 1:55 p.m.
