Jasper Campbell, 88, of 918 S. Third St., died in Burlington Memorial hospital at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22. He was a retired engineer at the Iowa Arm Ammunition Plant power house. The son of George and Maggie Campbell, he was born March 5, 1887, in Putnam county, Missouri. he served in the U.S. Army in World War I and married Carrie Cline at Centerville Jan. 27, 1920. Mr. Campbell was a member of First Christian church, the American Legion, and the Veterans of World War I. Surviving: The wife; two sons, Wayne and Kenneth J., both of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Fullhart, Ames; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas, Centerville; Clarence, Corydon, and Clark, Kirksville, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Ward, Memphis, Mo., and Mrs. George Baldwin, Unionville, Mo. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday, First Christian church, Rev. John Vickers; Aspen Grove Cemtery. The body is at Prugh's chapel.
