Christ Behtz, 76, 612 S. Plane, died Friday at St. Francis hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Burlington on Dec. 16, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Behtz, and married Emma Brizendine here on Aug. 3, 1904. He was a retired employee of the JI Case Co. and was a member of St. Luke’s United Church and the Eagles lodge.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Alfred Behtz, Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Weber, La Crosse, Wis., and Mrs. Garry Iles, Burlington; two brothers, Edward and John, both of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. William Fletcher, of Burlington, and four grandchildren. His parents, two sisters, and a brother are dead.
Services will be held Monday at 2:00 in the Giles funeral home, the Rev. Calvin Ley officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
