Mrs. Emma M. Behtz, 96, was dead on arrival at Burlington Memorial hospital at 2:25 am Monday, Sept. 1. Her home was at 612 S. Plane.
She was a native of Gibson, Ill., born Jan. 8, 1879, the daughter of William Louis and Mary Ellen Bass Brizendine. She married J. Christ Behtz in Burlington in August of 1904; he died earlier.
Mrs. Behtz was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
Surviving; Two daughters, Bertha Weber, LaCrosse, Wis., and Mary Iles, Burlington; two brothers, Oren Brizendine, Des Moines, and Edward Brizendine, St. Charles; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Prugh’s Chapel at 1:30 Thursday; Rev. Ernest Ellmers; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
