Obituary

Believed the victim of a chronic kidney ailment, George Eoff, about 76, was found dead in bed at 2021 Mercer street, early Wednesday evening. Born in Burlington, Mr. Eoff was a former teamster, and always had lived here. He was unmarried. Surviving are a sister and brother, Mrs. R.R. Willey of Burlington, and Robert Eoff of St. Louis, Mo. Coroner Chris Adank reported Mr. Eoff had been dead six or eight hours when his body was discovered. A book found beside the body led friends to believe he succumbed while reading. He had been up and about his room earlier in the day. Arrangements for the funeral will be made later. The body is at Unterkircher's funeral home.
Rites for George Eoff, 68, will be held from Unterkircher's funeral home at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. W.A. Samp, pastor of Harrison Avenue Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
