Obituary

Mrs. Jennie Elizabeth Astfalk, 1317 Brick, died at her home at 8:10 a.m. Thursday after an extended illness. She died two days after her 68th birthday. She was born in Shoquokon, Ill., Feb. 26, 1889, the daughter of James and Nancy Reese Bowman. Feb. 18, 1931 she married G.A. Astfalk in Kahoka, Mo. Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Elmer Bomer of Glenwood, Mrs.Milton Beardsley of Carman, Ill., Mrs. James Steger of Alameda, Calif., Mrs. Charles Graham of Burlington; a son, Louis Julius of East Moline, Ill., two stepsons, Milton and Edward Astfalk, both of Burlington; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Carl Boales of Burlington, Mrs. E.L. Willeford of Rock Island and Mrs. Leo White of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Bill Anderson of Burlington, 14 grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one step greatgrandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Prughs Chapel. The Rev. R.G. Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
