Obituary

Joseph Yacko, 38, 600 Leffler St., West Burlington, died Tuesday morning, July 13, 1993, at his home. Born Aug. 31, 1954, in Ottumwa, he was the son of Andrew and Jaunita Lathrop Yacko. Mr. Yacko was a production worker for General Electric in Burlington for 20 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1972. He enjoyed golfing, trap-shooting and motorcycle riding. Survivors include two sons, Jason and Justin Yacko, all of Reeds Spring, Mo.; a brother, John Yacko of Divide, Colo.; three sisters, Mari Levins of Burlington and Phyllis Russell and Margaret Carnes, both of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his patents and step-father. Visitation will be after noon today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Yacko will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Church in Burlington, with the Rev. John Hyland officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
