Ruth Wilke Barr, 89, of 2200 River St., Burlington, died at 6:35 pm on Monday, May 23, 1994.
Born April 30, 1905, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William and Henrietta Whitford Wilke. She married Mark Barr on June 7, 1930, in Burlington. He died Oct. 4, 1957.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Norman Circle of King’s Daughters since 1931, a member of the First Congregational Church and its Lyons Circle and served on the board of the Jennie Coulter Day Nursery.
Survivors include a son, Jim Barr of Burlington; a stepdaughter, Barbara Averill of Des Moines; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two cousins.
Friends may call as they desire at Prugh Funeral Service.
The funeral for Mrs. Barr will be at 11 am Friday at the First Congregational Church, with the Rev. William Trump officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for First Congregational Church and the Jennie Coulter Foundation.
