Obituary
Mrs. Mabel Asmussen, 76, of 2229 Sunnyside died at Burlington hospital Monday at 5:10 p.m. following a year's illness. She was born in Des Moines county April 18, 1880, the daughter of William and Sarah Knotts Steingreaber, Jan. 4, 1905, she married Henry Asmussen in Des Moines county. She had lived in Burlington for the past 16 years and was a member of the Hawkeye Natives. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Weyl, Burlington; a son, Milo Asmussen, Hazel Crest, Ill.; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Dustman, Burlington, brother, Robert Steingreaber, Burlington; also a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband and several brothers and sisters are dead. Services will be in Prugh's chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Emanuel Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
