Obituary

Randolph Ashway, 91, of 1812 S. Main, died in Oakdale hospital, Iowa City, Monday, Feb 2. He was born April 15, 1884, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Lewis and Christine Law Ashway. he served in the Navy and was an engineer for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He married Ella Thompson; she died earlier. He was a member of First United Presbyterian church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the Railroad Veterans. Surviving: Two sons, Robert, Alhambra, Calif., and Paul, Wofford Heights, Calif.; daughter Marian Sexton, LaMirada, Calif.; and sister Ruth Ashway, Burlington. Funeral: Prugh's Chapel at 1:30 Friday; Rev. Gary Burnett; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial to First United Presbyterian church has been established at the chapel.
