Obituary

Funeral services for Frank Ashway, 43, former resident of Burlington, who died at Monterey, Calif., were held there yesterday morning. His mother, Mrs. Christiana Ashway, and his sister, Miss Ruth Ashway, both of Burlington were at his bedside. Two brothers, Lewis and Randolph Ashway,also live in Burlington. he is survived also by his widow and another brother, Harry Ashway, of Santa Moniac, Calif. His father, Lewis, and a brother, Harold, preceded him in death. Mr. Ashway was born in Baltimore, Md., Oct. 5, 1887. He graduated from Prospect Hill school and attended Burlington high school. He enlisted in the United States navy, April 10, 1907, and served four years. During the World war he served as sergeant in Company C, 363rd infantry, of the Sunset, Calif., division. he served nine months overseas and was discharged at San Francisco. On March 15, 1920, he was united in marriage to Miss Louise Pippin of Burlington, who survives. The ceremony took place at Sacramento.
